EPA – More Irish Drinking Water Restrictions Unless Systems Improve

According to the Irish EPA, around 20,000 people on 20 public water supplies are currently affected by public water restrictions and boil water notices due to contaminants like Cryptosporidium – a source of gastrointestinal illness – and Trihalomethanes – which scientists say may be linked with cancer. The report also shows that water quality in private well water supplies lags significantly behind the quality in the public network.
